Phased-out PSs

Substances for which pesticide/agricultural use has been banned.

(2) Anthracene
Use of anthracene oil in agriculture banned by 2004 under regulation 2076/2002 of Directive 91/414 — some exceptions until 2007.

(8) Chlorfenvinphos
Use banned by 2004 under regulation 2076/2002 of Directive 91/414. Some exceptions for DK, D, Ire, Fr, NL and ES until 2007.

(11) Dichloromethane
Use already banned under Directive 79/117/EEC prohibiting the placing on the market and use of plant protection products containing certain active substances.

(16) Hexachlorobenzene
Use already banned under Directive 79/117/EEC prohibiting the placing on the market and use of plant protection products containing certain active substances.

(18) Hexachlorocyclo-hexane (including lindane)
Use banned by June 2002 under Commission Decision 2000/801/EC under Directive 91/414.

(21) Mercury
Use already banned under Directive 79/117/EEC prohibiting the placing on the market and use of plant protection products containing certain active substances including mercury oxide, mercurous chloride, other inorganic mercury compounds, alky mercury and alkoxylalkyl and aryl mercury compounds.

(24) Nonylphenols
Use as ingredient of plant protection products banned by 2004 by regulation 2076/2002 under Directive 91/414. Directive 76/769 > Directive 2003/53/EC (annex I, issue 46): nonyl and nonylphenol ethoxylates may not be placed on the market or used as a substance or constituent of preparations in concentrations equal or higher than 0.1% by mass for the purpose of co-formulation in pesticides and biocides and emulsifier in agricultural teat dips.

(26) Pentachlorobenzene
Pentachlorobenzene could be present as an impurity in quintozene (as it is used as an intermediate in the production of quintozene) and as an impurity in hexachlorobenzene. However, both the use of quintozene as a pesticide (Directive 2000/816/EC under Directive 91/414, not allowed on the market since June 2002) and the use of hexachlorobenzene (Directive 79/117/EEC) have been banned

(30) Tributyltin
Use banned by 2004 by regulation 2076/2002 under Directive 91/414
